The Last Post for the Year 2009

This is going to be a post that goes in a rush and at the spur of the moment. ...

So many things happened this year...
Well of cause just like life there were ups and downs, I had my fair share of both too.

Starting with school, knowing the lovians, Student Councillors (Canni, Jinhao, Winston and many others who have left a mark in my life).

The rest i never put up their pictures cos its all on facebook. lolz

Attending so many wedding dinners till i also blur liaoz.

This year i will be counting down in a cinema @ Tiong Bahru; watching sherlock holmes with meishan and her friend andrew.

Lastly this is the best gift of the year, the arrival of Merisse, my sweet and beloved niece.

Byes 2009 for now ...

deep thoughts

today i told my kai ma (she is the one from scouting and yes i have alot of kaima).
i look not for the moment but for the future.
i give not to pass the day but to survive the lifetime.

we were discussing about a possibility to start a non profit organisation in china. and i felt that if we were to start up something for the countryside kids.
we should look at providing some things for the kids - giving a form of education be it academic or sports.
even if its some thing i cant give for my enternal life.

leaving Singapore Island Country Club

People who knows me well enough.
will know that i love kids and teaching swimming.
teaching swimming has always been something close to my heart. being able to play and teach the kids a new skill is something that i have always treasured no matter how mischievous or irritating they can be.

It really pains me to make the decision today to leave the club, to leave coaching of swimming.
but i need to be realistic too, i cannot stay on at a place where there is no decent respect for a coach who have dedicated his time and effort to teach.
Even right now, as i am typing this blog it hurts me deep inside to have left the students in the lurch. it is really never been part of my intention to throw the kids away.

My dear students, please forgive me, your coach.

Expedition to Kranji Dam

This was a crazy and problematic session. correction its 2 sessions
I went to JBAC for kayaking session with NYJC yesterday.

I was informed only the night before by the boatman that we were possibly chaperoning the students who might be attempting to go to the causeway and that they are all NOOB. It was totally scary to think about it man.
but lucky in the morning, the teacher told us that oh they have decided not to go so far. PHew...
they were crawling slow...
The afternoon session were not anywhere beta BUT we tried KAYAK SURFING
haha
it was the real crazy fun.
imagine you are sitted in your kayak and the speedboat towed you. the feeling was great, superb and hell i am still feeling the high of it.

to think of it if not for lending my camera to my sister. arghz i would have posted the photo here.
CRAZY SHIT but HELLUVA FUN ...

Rowing and Paddling

Its been a sweet 3 weeks.
honestly, I think no one can say that they love the water more than I do. It was totally fun for me, too fun.
I was teaching 1 star kayaking @ Changi Coast and Kallang. well its mostly at Kallang using boats that are antique in a way. hehe
of cos there was the sessions of orientation with the students and teachers who were nothing less than a bundle of joy.

And of course, the 2 days of basic helmsman course which i cleared with MUCH EFFORT. The effort was to learn how to row as nice as the competitive rowers which i am no where near with their standards.

but i believe i should be able handle the next upcoming course - recreational coaching for dragonboating this coming weekend. thanks to meishan and allson.

oh yes people reading may be wondering who are these 2 fellas rite.

Meishan - my friend from Bukit Timah YEC and she is into dragonboating with an open team (PALS) and allson - Team Captain for PALS. he corrected my strokes and at the same time welcomed me into the team to be part of them.
